Toyota Market Share
TOKYO: Toyota Motor Corp. recorded sales of cars and trucks in the world during the first half of this that still leads the global market share beating General Motors Co. and Volkswagen AG.

Toyota car sales during the first half of this year reached 4.97 million units ( Javier Moreno ). 
General Motors is only able to sell 4.67 million units and German car manufacturer VW record sales of 4.45 million units. 
The increase in sales was the impact of the the Toyota production recovery after the tsunami in Japan and flooding in Thailand. ( Presiden Toyota Akio Toyoda ).

The recovery in production, increase in car sales in the two major their markets : Japanese and the United States. GM and Volkswagen is struggling hard in the the crisis in Europe which in turn lowers the car sales in the region. 
"With a difference of only 300,000 units, or about 7% of the volume, it shows the world of competition out there," ( IHS Automotive analyst : Rebecca Lindland ).
GM intends to become No.. 1 world market share. However, he added, GM seems to prefer to achieve maximum profit rather than chasing market share.
Toyota to take over GM's share of the world market since 2008 when the economic crisis hit the United States and GM faced with the threat of bankruptcy in 2009. GM achieved the first position last year after Toyota production fell due to natural disasters in Asia.
